Texas state officials say the number of people hospitalized in a hospital in Corpus Christi has risen to nine.
That number includes four who are in critical condition, including a woman who is in critical but stable condition.
The hospital’s spokeswoman, Marlene Garcia, says the woman’s condition was stabilized, and that she is receiving dialysis.
A state veterinarian says she is recovering well, according to CBS affiliate KTRK.9:55 p.e.
The Texas Department of State Health Services said that nine people in Texas have been hospitalized after contracting a salmonella-like illness.
It is not clear how many are connected to the fish taco outbreak, which began in Texas last week.
The state says it is continuing to work with the Texas Department for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate the outbreak.
