With “Big Bang Theory” set to return to the Big 4 networks next season, Netflix is reportedly considering pulling the plug on the beloved series in a bid to save some cash.
The network is reportedly looking to cut the show from its lineup entirely and is considering scrapping the first two seasons altogether, according to Deadline.
While Netflix has yet to comment on the rumor, it’s not hard to imagine the network would do so without the benefit of the original shows ratings, which dropped during the final season.
In recent months, Netflix has also been trying to find a way to revive “Stranger Things,” a series that dropped after its fourth season, after Netflix executives were unable to get the show back on the schedule.
In December, Netflix confirmed that the “Strangers Things” reboot was in the works, but did not confirm whether the project would be an original series or a reboot of “Strider Things.”
Netflix did not immediately respond to Deadline’s request for comment.
